Gaining Clinical Experience

Clinical Electives

In your final year of medical school, if your school is eligible, you can apply to do a UBC clinical elective as a visiting student. There are specific requirements for language, and core rotations in a specialty.

At the end of the elective, you will have gained practical experience in the British Columbia health care system. A transcript describing your experience is available upon request.

Students must be attending an accredited school in the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
