Aug. 1, 2025 IMG CAP Online Application Opens
The online application portal opens at 12:00 AM (PDT).
Aug. 19 – Sept. 11, 2025 MCC Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part 1 Session Dates
Second session of the MCCQE Part 1 in 2025.
Last session of the MCCQE Part 1 in 2025 accepted by IMG CAP.

Aug. 25, 2025 IMG CAP Online Application Closes
The online application portal closes at 11:59 PM (PDT).
Aug. 25, 2025 DEADLINE: Submission of application via the CAP application portal and sharing of required documents via physiciansapply.ca
The application must be fully submitted and the identity/citizenship document, medical diploma1 (and translation, if applicable), and passing MCCQE Part 1 result must be shared by 11:59 PM (PDT). Late submission and sharing is not accepted, with the exception of pending MCCQE Part 1 results.2 Please refer to the Application Process page for  instructions.

Note:

1Applicants graduating during the period April 2025 – June 2026: Instead of sharing your medical diploma through your physiciansapply.ca account, you are required to upload to the CAP application portal a copy of your MCC Student Attestation Form, which states the expected date of completion of all requirements for your medical degree. 

2Applicants who take the MCCQE Part 1 during the Aug. 19 – Sept. 11, 2025 session: Your results will be available four weeks after the last day of the session and must be shared through your physiciansapply.ca account by 11:59 PM (PST) on Oct. 19, 2025. 

Aug. 25, 2025 DEADLINE: Submission of proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
Applicants who are required to submit a certified or notarized copy of their proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status must submit it via a link in the CAP application portal by 11:59 PM (PDT). Late submissions are not accepted. Please refer to the Application Process page for instructions.
Aug. – Oct. 2025 IMG CAP Application Review Period
Applicants will be notified via email on the status of their application. “Accepted” applications are further reviewed for consideration as candidates for participation in the IMG CAP MMI. Incomplete and ineligible applications will appear as “Declined” . Applications awaiting MCCQE Part 1 results will appear as “Under Review”.
Sept. 10, 2025 CaRMS Online opens for applicants for the 2026 R-1 Match

Oct. 19, 2025 DEADLINE: Sharing of the Aug. 19 – Sept. 11, 2025 MCCQE Part 1 results via physiciansapply.ca
The passing MCCQE Part 1 result must be shared by 11:59 PM (PST). Late sharing is not accepted. Please refer to the Application Process page for instructions.
Nov. 3 – 5, 2025 IMG CAP Candidate Position Offers
IMG CAP position offers will be emailed to selected candidates. Candidates are given 48 hours to respond to accept or decline the offer.
Nov. 15 & 16, 2025 Live Virtual Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI)
Candidates who accept their CAP position offer will participate in the 2025 IMG CAP Live Virtual MMI.

Note: Applicants planning to participate in other IMG programs’ interviews on these dates are requested to indicate this on their IMG CAP application. This will assist the IMGBC Office in avoiding scheduling conflicts.

Nov. 24, 2025 IMG CAP Results Submission to CaRMS
The IMGBC Office submits the CAP letters directly to CaRMS. Letters are sent to candidates shortly thereafter.
Nov. 27, 2025 CaRMS Application Submission Deadline
Please refer to the CaRMS website for details. IMG CAP does not participate in the CaRMS file review, interviews, or any post-submission processes.
Summer 2026 IMG Resident Orientation
Matched IMG Residents will participate in a mandatory orientation prior to the start of R-1 residency.
